It is located between 11 Com and 24 Com in the southern part of Coma Berenices.
M85 (NGC 4382): It is large and bright, an easy target.
The core is compact and very bright. There is a star attached to the core, but the core is brighter than the star. The difference in brightness between the core and the halo is obvious.
NGC 4394: It is smaller than M85 but fairly bright. There is a star-like nucleus and a bar structure is seen to run southeast-northwest. The halo is faint, circular, and extensive.
