This is a globular cluster situated south of the Teapot in Sagittarius. It is in the middle of the three small Messier globulars in this region. It is a small object and at 150x the outlying areas look grainy and some stars are resolved.
Some faint stars are peppered across the surface, some of which forms a conspicuous line. At the center there is a core-like condensation. Compared with M69, west of this cluster, M70 has a higher level of concentration.
