This globular is located southeast of the Teapot in Sagittarius. It is a fine globular. The surface brightness is not high but it is a fairly large cluster.

At 150x with RA10mm it is completely resolved. This sketch was made at 150x. The cluster is filled with closely packed faint stars with brighter stars sprinkled over them. The outlying areas are rugged and irregular but difficult to draw.

At 110x with XL14 it is generally a grainy nebulosity with many resolved stars superimposed on it. There is hardly any condensation and the surface brightness is uniform. The overall shape is hexagonal.
