It is very beautiful and shows a very interesting distribution of the stars. When observing easily-resolvable globular clusters, you will notice the various peculiarities that are far more obvious visually than in photographs. M5 is a large bright globular cluster like M13 and well resolved. The center of the globular has a strong condensation like a solid core. Immediately east of the core there is a hint of a curved dark lane. Southeast of the core lies a relatively bright double. There is also a conspicuous star southwest of the core. Fine-looking four lines of stars are clearly visible. It gives an impression of a crab with its legs spread or the cutout image of a flower bud. This is easily visible in photographs in astronomy magazines.
