This is a bright and large open cluster south of Sirius. It has a typical open cluster appearance. There are many bright stars concentrating in the center. A concentration of bright stars around the center is quite noticeable. There are many strings of stars radiating evenly from the center to the outlying areas with gradual central brightening.
